With the rapid development of urbanization, the boundaries between urban and rural areas have become increasingly blurred in the larger cities.Because of the over-expanding of rural city which promotes the development of city fringe area,it has brought about many problems.Taking the Northern Suburbs area of Beijing as an example, the paper analyzes the land use change and the Space-time Structure evolution of the urban fringe, which not only involves some scientific problems, but also enriches the theory to some degree. The Northern Suburbs considering natural and administrative factor, includes the area from the northern mountainous ridge line to the piedmont plain area in the north of Beijing.Based on the remote sensing data of 2004,2009 and 2014,this paper uses the method of landscape analysis, statistical analysis and GIS spatial analysis to study the evolution of Space-time structure.Transfer matrix, equal sector analysis and ring analysis were employed to study the land use change;Expansion Intensity and Expansion Speed were employed to study Characteristics of Construction Land.Moving windows and spatial analysis were used for fragmentation analysis studies.Extraction of landscape index and landscape pattern change in response, mainly came to the following conclusion:1.Construction land increased significantly.Construction land is mainly converted to the forest land, and it is mainly transferred from farmland; The forest land area first increased and then decreased, but the total area increased, accounting for implementation of returning farmland to forests in mountainous areas has achieved certain results; The water area decreased;Unused land and garden land increased. In the analysis of ring system, forest circle analysis with the change of distance has certain regularity, and the three phases are similar; The changes of cultivated area resemble a parabola; The area of construction land is increasing, distribution of peaks in 16-17km,and the peak of construction land expands outward.Sector analysis, such as land-use changes found, cultivated land area decrease, except in the north direction because of the conversion of cultivated land increased, arable land has decreased in other directions;Building sites in the East South-East,Southeast,South-South-East increase in three directions are larger than 10km2;Forest area in East and South-East,Southeast,South and Southwest direction increased significantly.2.The expansion direction of construction land is anisotropic, related to government policies and terrain;Expansion rate varies at different stages, from fast to slow,Western expansion is significantly greater than in the eastern areas in the northern suburbs;Expansion strength in different periods and different direction of expansion intensity is obviously different, but the intensity of the expansion of the whole decade is not very different, indicating the expansion of uniform distribution.3.Fragmentation is associated with topography. The relatively high degree of fragmentation in the northern suburbs of Beijing is concentrated in plain urban areas, with low fragmentation in the western and northern mountains; In the 10 years, fragmentation index tends to uniform distribution and reduce the distribution, the plain area has increased and reduced.Human disturbance influences the fragmentation change.4.From the landscape unit,a steady increase in the number of plaques and the average patch area continued to decline, indicating that Northern Suburbs development mode for small patches, discontinuity and fragmentation; From the landscape spatial composition, the increase of the landscape shape index, the increase of the degree of separation and the reduction of the degree of polymerization reflect the complexity of the landscape distribution; From the perspective of landscape diversity,Shaannon's diversity and evenness of the two indices are first decreases and then increases.Landscape distribution tends to be uneven first, and then becomes uniform.
