Statistical Analysis Of The Impact Of R&D Funds On The Quality Of Economic Growth

Since the reform and opening up,the number of economic growth in China has expanded rapidly due to demographic dividends,resource cost advantages,and trade advantages.With the rising of labor costs,ecological damage,resource reduction and other constraints on economic growth,the quality of economic growth has gradually received attention.Improving the quality of economic growth and solving outstanding contradictions and problems in the process of economic development are important ways for China’s current economic growth.Taking the quality of economic growth as the research object,this paper aims to explain the influence of research and development expenditure on the quality of economic growth.Through the method of individual effect model,the research is carried out to provide reference for the improvement of economic growth quality in the economic transition period.Firstly,Based on the understanding of domestic and foreign scholars’ research on the quality of economic growth,this paper defines the definition of economic growth quality in combination with the background of social development,and expounds the main content of economic growth quality.Secondly,according to the main content of economic growth quality,this paper constructs an economic growth quality evaluation index system,and uses the global entropy method to measure the economic growth quality of various provinces and cities in 2006-2015.Then this paper compares the economic growth quality of each province and city from the two dimensions of time and space,and compares the R&D expenditure of each province and city from the scale and intensity of R&D expenditure.Finally,this paper empirically analyzes the impact of R&D expenditure on the quality of economic growth in various regions by constructing an individual-specific effect model.The results show that under the time dimension,the economic growth quality of each province and city showed a volatility upward trend within ten years.During the “11th Five-Year Plan” period,the promotion was slow,and the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period was significantly improved.Under the spatial dimension,the economic growth quality level of the eastern,central and western regions showed high-medium-low spatial distribution characteristics,and there was no major change in the decade,but the gap between the economic growth quality of the central and western regions gradually narrowed.The scale of R&D expenditures in various provinces and cities has been continuously expanding,but the changes in the intensity of funding input in various provinces and cities have shown great differences.The impact of R&D expenditure on the quality of economic growth in the three regions of East,Central and West is heterogeneous.At the national level,the increase in R&D expenditures can significantly improve the quality of economic growth.At the regional level,the increase in R&D expenditure intensity has a significant positive impact on the quality of economic growth in the eastern and western regions,but has a negative impact on the quality of economic growth in the central region.
