Research On Trade Benefits And Its Influence Factors Of Papermaking And Paper Products Of China

Due to the development of world economy,the international labor division has come to a new stage:from the original inter-industry division into the process of product production division,forming a new specialization model——global value chain specialization,which has changed the international trade benefits from perspectives of contents,pattern and subject of distribution,and measurements.China is now one of the most important countries of papermaking and paper products around the world.Whether its trade scale matches trade interests,this paper aims to find out China’s actual trade interests and influence factors through our calculation.Firstly,this paper hackles related trade interests researches both at home and abroad according to the evolution of international division of labor and cares about researches interrelated to trade interests under global value chain specialization.We draw lessons from trade in value-added accounting model and use WIOD to measure both static and dynamic trade interests of papermaking and paper product of China.In addition,we make an empirical analysis of trade influential factors,which affect gains from trade.The results show:from the aspect of static trade interests,the value-added ratio of papermaking and paper products of China is relatively low,the real gains from trade does not match the trade scale.Compared to the traditional countries of high productivity power of papermaking and paper products especially,such as America,Germany,Finland and Sweden,there exists a distance of trade profitability and trade profit margins between China and those developed countries.From the dynamic trade interests,China take a positive participation in global papermaking industry,the exports of papermaking and paper products contribute to the industry employment,it has a positive influence on employment rate,what’ more,it does make a dedication to the national economy growth.From the empirical analysis of trade influential factors,we find that economies of scale,foreign direct investment,vertical specialization and the labor productivity are the main influential factors contributed to trade benefits of papermaking and paper products of China.In the end,we put forward some policy advices about how to improve the capacity of trade benefits that include developing comparative superiority of labor,forming industrial agglomeration,making a full use of foreign direct investment and participating global value chain specialization positively.
