As one of the most important strategies in the 13 th Five-Year Plan of Zhejiang Province,metropolitan area strategy is of great help to solve the regional balance of Zhejiang Province and to find new sources of economic growth impetus.Taking Hangzhou Metropolitan Area as the largest metropolitan area in Zhejiang Province as an example,this paper studies the optimization of its spatial structure.First,the mechanism of the formation and development of Hangzhou metropolitan area and the evolution of spatial structure are studied.According to the Outline of Hangzhou Metropolitan Area Planning,this paper expounds the present situation of Hangzhou Metropolitan Area,traces back the urban planning process of Hangzhou,the "main core" city in Hangzhou Metropolitan Area,and the "secondary core" city,Shaoxing City.This paper analyzes the formation and development mechanism of Hangzhou metropolitan area from three mechanisms: division mechanism,unbalanced mechanism and contact mechanism.The research on spatial structure evolution mechanism of Hangzhou metropolitan area includes spatial expansion mechanism,spatial function combination mechanism,spatial linkage mechanism and regional evolution mechanism.In the process of empirical analysis,the coefficient of variation is introduced to measure the degree of economic equilibrium.By comparing with the calculation results of Shanghai,Beijing,Nanjing and other ten cities,it is concluded that Hangzhou belongs to the degree of regional imbalance.By introducing the spatial fragmentation index and calculating the fragmentation index of counties(cities)in the metropolitan area,Chun'an County,Anji County and Jiande City are the top three counties(cities)with the highest degree of spatial fragmentation in the metropolitan area of Hangzhou.At the same time,by comparing the spatial fragmentation index of Hangzhou with that of Hangzhou,the construction of Hangzhou metropolitan area is explained.It is conducive to the promotion of regional equilibrium.The comparison of the connection degree between the core city area and the peripheral city in the metropolitan area is studied from the connection degree of "one main city,one pair" in the metropolitan area,the horizontal comparison of the connection degree between the ten major urban core areas and the peripheral regional economy,and the connection degree between the upper urban area in the Hangzhou metropolitan area and the peripheral counties(cities)through these three links.Thecalculation shows that there is a close relationship between "one principal and one secondary" in Hangzhou metropolitan area,and there is a huge gap between other counties(cities)in the metropolitan area.The Moran's index analysis is used to study the structural optimization of Hangzhou metropolitan area.Through the analysis of the per capita GDP of the counties(cities)in the metropolitan area from 2000 to 2015 and the per capita GDP reduced to the comparable price in2000,the calculated Moran's index is both positive and increasing trend.This shows that the economic differences and spatial distribution among the counties in the metropolitan area of Hangzhou.Through the study of Moran's scatter plot,it is found that the spatial dependence of resource elements on the core area is significant,the polarization of Hangzhou metropolitan area is increasing,and the degree of agglomeration is expanding.Finally,the evolution of the spatial structure of Greater London Metropolitan Area is summarized,and the three characteristics of the spatial evolution of Greater London Metropolitan Area are summarized: the directivity of policies and regulations,the division of labor and industrial upgrading,and the improvement of transport network infrastructure.Three enlightenments are put forward to optimize the spatial structure of Hangzhou metropolitan area:strengthening the "top-level design" of Hangzhou metropolitan area planning;establishing multi-level industrial structure and multi-gradient spatial structure with clear and empty industrial distribution.A high level metropolitan area with reasonable structure;and quickening the layout of the transport network infrastructure in Hangzhou metropolitan area.
