The Measurement Of The Level Of New Urbanization In The Yangtze River Economic Belt And Its Impact On Economic Growth

Cities are the economic center of regional development,the construction of urbanization is the focus of urban development,and the level of new urbanization based on traditional urbanization can reflect the economic.social.cultural and innovative capabilities of a region to a certain extent.China’s urbanization has experienced a long and tortuous process.The urbanization process has accelerated since the reform and opening up,especially in the past decade.However,due to the rapid development of urbanization,there are also a series of problems,such as the systems and policies in the early days of New China are somewhat deviates from the the law of urbanization development;they are still dominated by the extensive development model;the gap between urban and rural areas is obvious,the regional development is not balanced;and so on.These problems will seriously hinder the development of urbanization to a higher level.Therefore,in the process of urbanization,a new urbanization strategy that focuses more on more efficiency,people-oriented,comprehensive and coordinated sustainable development gradually replaces the traditional urbanization strategy.The Yangtze River Economic Belt Strategy is a major regional development strategy for China.The urbanization of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is also facing the above problems.Therefore,in the critical period of building a well-off society in an all-round way,we should promote the construction of a new type of urbanization in the Yangtze Economic Belt.It has a great strategic to realize the coordinated development of the region,to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas in the Yangtze economic belt,and to build the goal of harmonious coexistence between people and society.In this paper,focus on the theoretical connotation,development process,current situation and influence mechanism to do of literature collection,reading of the previous research on urbanization and new urbanization,forming a clear explanation and systematic review.Taking 11 provinces and cities of the Yangtze River Economic Belt as the research object and 2007-2016 as the research period,selecting panel data as the basic data,on the basis of defining the connotation of the new urbanization in the Yangtze Economic Belt,in four dimensions including the level of economic development and the level of social development,ecological development level and urban and rural development level,21 indexes were selected to construct the comprehensive evaluation index system of the new urbanization level.The entropy method and other methods are used to calculate the level of new urbanization in 11 provinces and cities in the past 10 years,and to observe its development trend.Based on this,the correlation between the new urbanization level and the economic growth in the Yangtze Economic Belt is studied by using the panel data fixed effect regression and other empirical methods.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)From 2007 to 2016,the new urbanization level of the Yangtze River economic belt showed an overall increasing trend,but the regional gradient difference were obvious,(2)The improvement of the new urbanization level in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has significantly boosted its economic g)rowth.Finally,combining the conclusions obtained and taking the economic new normal as the background,comprehensively considering the development status of the new urbanization level in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and putting forward some considerations in the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt:(1)The construction of the Yangtze economic belt should be based on the construction of new urbanization.(2)Adhere to the people-oriented and take the new industrialization as the driving force to promote the development of new urbanization in the Yangt2ze River Economic Belt.(3)Promoting the integrated development of new urbanization construction in the Yangtze economic belt.(4)Take the road of high quality development.
