Research On The Impact Of Producer Services On High-end Manufacturing And Its Exports

Manufacturing industry is the powerful motive force and economic basis of economic development.At present,China's manufacturing industry is big but not strong,and the development of high-end manufacturing industry has become an inevitable requirement.High-end manufacturing industry is showing a rising trend in output and employment.However,there are great differences between departments,the value creating ability is of fluctuations and imbalance.The development of the whole industry is facing fluctuations because of the unbalance between departments and the unmatch with service industry.On the theoretical basis of producer services and high-end manufacturing,the paper used China's 2002—2012 input-output tables and import and export trade data.Firstly,we constructed Consumption Coefficients to estimate industry input-output relations.Secondly,we constructed Association Coefficients to measure forward and backward correlation degree between two industries and other industries.Thirdly,we constructed Export Promotion Effect Index to calculate the effect of producer services on high-end manufacturing export.Lastly,we structured regression equation to investigate the relation between high-end manufacturing the export and productive service import.The findings are as follows.Firstly,the indirect input proportion of productive service industry to the higher manufacturing is greater than the direct input proportion.And the direct input is decreasing year by year,while the input in the intermediate products is increasing year by year.This shows that the impact of producer services on manufacturing is mediated by intermediate inputs indirectly.Secondly,the input of producer services sectors has different effects on higher manufacturing.Transportation,warehousing,leasing business and financial insurance have a greater impact on the output of higher manufacturing,and the impact of real estate and information transmission is relatively small.It is worth noting that the input of scientific research promotes the higher manufacturing greater.Thirdly,the driving force of producer services on higher manufacturing is large but the driving force is weakening.In turn,the higher manufacturing has a great impetus to other industries.Among them,the benign interaction between the scientific comprehensive service industry and higher manufacturing is strong,so the input and support of this sector should be sustained in the later period.Fourthly,productive service can promote the export of higher manufacturing,which shows an upward trend in the export promotion index.Meanwhile,the input of productive service import also plays a promoting role,but the input of import lease and business trade service is suppressing,so the department should rely on domestic input.Based on the conclusions above,this paper puts forward the following suggestions to promote the development of high-end manufacturing: optimizing the structure of manufacturing industry to achieve a balanced development of high-end industry;developing local producer services to support industrial development;optimizing producer services import structure to increase the role of industry support;building talent supply mechanism to forming knowledge innovation market atmosphere.
