The Trend,Characteristics And Management Of Urbanization In The Border Areas Of Yunnan Province

At present,town has gradually become a very important carrier of people in social,economic,political and cultural life,and urbanization has gradually become one of the main propositions in contemporary China.Speeding up the urbanization of the border areas of Yunnan is not only to promote the economic development of Yunnan border areas and to promote the efficient use of various resources,but also has its special strategic significance in safeguarding border security and frontier.Combining quantitative and qualitative analysis methods,this paper first summarizes the relevant concepts of urbanization and government governance,and integrates the new urbanization development policies of China and Yunnan Province at present.Secondly,it analyzes the particularity of urbanization development at Yunnan border from two aspects of urbanization development environment and development road.This paper analyzes the present situation of urbanization development in Yunnan Province by means of quantitative analysis,uses the night light data released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA),and uses ArcGIS GIS software to make an intuitive image description and comparative analysis of the changes of night lights in the border areas of Yunnan during the past 20 years.And from the economic development,social people’s livelihood,opening up,border security and ecological environment five dimensions to measure and evaluate the development level of Yunnan regional urbanization,the use of two-way comparison and other qualitative analysis,the development of Yunnan urbanization status and characteristics of the qualitative analysis.Finally,according to the current situation of the development of border urbanization in Yunnan and the problems existing in the process of development,the paper puts forward policy suggestions from four dimensions of economy,people’s livelihood,ecological protection and social stability from the perspective of government governance.In this paper,we draw the following conclusions: Due to the influence of geographical factors,natural conditions,humanistic factors and industrial policies,the social and economic development of Yunnan border areas is late and the regional development is unbalanced,therefore,in the course of the development of Yunnan border urbanization,it is not possible to apply the existing methods and policies of urbanization.We must make efforts to develop theeconomic construction of cities and towns,promote the development of frontier trade,accelerate the improvement of people’s living standards,pay attention to environmental protection in the process of urbanization,and combat all kinds of crimes,so as to exert the special functions of Yunnan frontier towns.
