| At present,the trend of aging population in our country is escalating fiercely with the intensification of social transformation and urbanization.It is still an imminent problem to care the elderly.As a window of the Chinese society,the elderly-care problem in rural area is appearing to the new turning due to the change of social situation.This study jumped out of the traditional thinking of “specific issue”,as well as,not just to the position of traditional aged-care problems,but focused on the social phenomenon of the rural elderly relying on “self-reliance”to care themselves under the new situation.Based on the factual experience of two representative villages M and Y,the study explores the formation 、development and the support operation of the elderly self-care in rural areas by analyzing the action process of rural self-care as well as the social support for sustaining actions.It further reveals that the elderly in rural areas as the main body of their own pension,the subjectivity of their actions is constrained by the objective social structure.The factual narration and theoretical analysis of this study is based on the social action theory of Parsons and the social capital theory of Lin Nan.On the one hand,the rural elderly of self-care have a certain logic in action choices and life practices.They are motivated by purposeful cognition and rational self-support.In this process,the action practice will be influenced by the social normative orientation and the objective structure.On the other hand,self-care does not mean that the subject is completely separated from the family and society.The elderly ’s old-age life depends on the maintenance of their own social capital,and they rely on social support outside the scope of self-reliance to obtain the self-care resources embedded in the social network.Specifically,social support operation is divided into formal support elements and informal support elements.When it affects the elderly’s self-care practices,different forces are generated due to differences in the forms and contents of support.However,social capital in circulation can only be effective and useful when it satisfies the demands of the self-cared elderly and meets the village’s practical field.Based on this,the and operation of rural social support for the elderly self-care is still focused on the production of family,community and social capital.which is both the realistic need in the rural self-care for the elderly,and is also the agreement with the demands of the self-care to it’s subject.In short,self-care of the elderly in rural areas is a realistic mapping of the integration of rural social structure changes combining the elderly ’s subjectivity.The development of the problem still has the ductility in a certain period.It is necessary to consider the limit of rural self-care and the dynamism of social support.In the meantime,to realize the direction of governance in the thinking of "Old support" and "Old pleasure". |
