Study On The Efficiency Of Government Expenditure On Higher Education

With the rapid development of social economy,China has stepped into an era of knowledge economy.More and more people go to campus to seek higher education,the importance of higher education has been deepened.The cause of higher education has achieved great development.On the occasion of the 105^th anniversary establishment of a school in Tsinghua University,President Xi Jin ping pointed out the success of higher education is a matter of national development and the future of a nation.China's higher education should focus on achieving the“two centenary goals”and“Chinese Dream”to cultivate a large number of talents.Our government expenditure has made an indelible contribution to the development of higher education.By 2012,China's public finance investment in education share of GDP exceeded 4%for the first time.In recent years,the proportion is also rising.However,there are still many problems need to be solved in the government expenditure of a higher education,especially the problem of low efficiency,which is not conducive to the further development of higher education,but also is a waste of resources.From this point of view,the research object of this paper is government expenditure efficiency on the higher education.It considered the theory of public goods,cost sharing theory and demand and supply theory as the support.And has a comprehensive understanding of the China's higher education financial investment.Then I used the e method to measure the efficiency of local government expenditure.From the reality and the empirical results,I summarized the problems of government expenditure efficiency in higher education is lower value and the differences between different regions.The reasons include the lack of government expenditure,lower utilization ratio,the system differences and policy oriented.In order to have a better development on higher education and optimize the government expenditure,we make some suggestions.
