The Research Methods And Enlightenment Of Embodied Artificial Intelligence

Since the 1970s,embodied cognition has broken the traditional epistemological tradition of "separation of body and mind" in traditional cognitive psychology,emphasizing the important position of body in cognition.The purpose of embodied cognition is to highlight that cognition depends on the body of perceptual movement,and to build individual perceptual motor ability in a broader biological,psychological and cultural context.This creative theory points out a new direction for the development of AI from the methodological point of view.Artificial intelligence technology rose in the 1950s.In the following decades,the development of artificial intelligence was closely linked with computer science,and formed two distinct schools:symbolic artificial intelligence with representation as its core and connectionist school with artificial neural network as its core.However,these two paths fail to fundamentally solve the problem of interaction between agents and the real world.It is in the dilemma of symbolism and connectionism that embodied AI has stepped onto the stage of history.It takes action as its core,emphasizing giving artificial intelligence a body and realizing interaction with the outside world through the body.Therefore,embodied AI is also called behaviorist AI.Behaviorism coincides with embodied cognition,and embodied research methods have sprung up.Researchers have put forward specific research methods and theories such as collective intelligence,world learning and distributed adaptive control.Compared with symbolism and connectionism artificial intelligence,embodied artificial intelligence has obvious advantages:first,embodied artificial intelligence is no longer a "bedridden" program,it can clean the house,wipe the floor,and even communicate with human beings;second,self-adaptability,can better complete the interaction with the external environment;third,embodied artificial intelligence is more similar to the external environment.A real person is helpful for human beings to explore the essence of intelligence.It can be seen that the research method of embodied artificial intelligence has important theoretical value and practical significance.On the one hand,it promotes the integration of philosophy and artificial intelligence,promotes the transformation of cognitive science paradigm,highlights the value of irrational and illogical methods;on the other hand,due to the dissemination and application of physical intelligence,adaptive control and other embodied concepts and methods,artificial intelligence has developed to a higher level,sharing human labor and turning Cyborg into reality.It is of great practical significance to improve social morality.
