Research On Comprehensive Archives Utilization Service From The Perspective Of Information Foraging Theory

In December 2007,the State Archives Bureau issued Opinions on Strengthening People's Livelihood Archives Work,putting forward to realize two transformationsand establish two systems,emphasizing the establishment of a convenient archives utilization system for the people,which points out the direction for the further development of archives utilization service work.Archives utilization service is not only the duty of comprehensive archives to serve the people,but also an effective way to give full play to the value of archives information resources.Providing users with more high-quality archives utilization service will be the top priority in the work of comprehensive archives.Although the development and application of information foraging theory is not mature in China,the analysis of users' information search behavior through information foraging theory can grasp users' information needs more scientifically and accurately,and provide a reference for the use of archives and services.Therefore,based on the theory of information foraging,starting from the actual needs of users,this paper studies the utilization services of comprehensive archives by providing users with better information service environment.Firstly,based on the theory of information foraging,this paper studies the user's information search,analyses the influencing factors of user's information search,analyses the characteristics of user's information search behavior from the perspective of three basic models of information foraging theory,and expounds the advantages of information foraging theory in comprehensive archives utilization service research.Combining the theory of information foraging with the specific situation of the utilization of service in Comprehensive Archives in China,this paper explores the information patch model,information menu model and information clue model of the utilization of service in comprehensive archives,and studies the division,construction and improvement of information patch in comprehensive archives from three aspects of information patch,information menu and information clue.The development of information menu and related link services,the specific direction of information clue optimization services and user skills improvement.This research applies the theory of information foraging to the research of utilization service of comprehensive archives.It emphasizes user's needs,takes user's actual experience as the main evaluation criterion,pays attention to the influence of external environment on archives user's information query and pays attention to the uncertainty of archives user's information query goal,so as to grasp the information needs of Archives users more scientifically.In order to improve the comprehensive archives utilization service level,in order to provide new ideas for the comprehensive archives utilization service research.
