A Preliminary Study On The Museumization Of Religious Sites

The development of religion and the great wave of social museums have led to the transformation of religious sites into museums.Museums of religious places have led to more modem science and technology being used in the protection of religious relics.It also has a great impetus for the spread of religious culture,but the influence of this phenomenon needs further discussion and research.After the analysis and study of several religious museums in China,I found that the religious museums in China all depend on the religious sites and divide them into three categories according to the different subordinate objects:1.The museum relies on an ancient temple,and on this basis it is divided into the reutilization of the ancient temples and the new museums outside the temple;2.Museums that depend on the site of the temple;3.A religious museum built on a famous mountain with a long history of religion.As an art thematic museum,religious museums have a relatively single collection and display.The purpose of the museum is to show the history of religious relics and religions in the strong religious background,so that people can feel the religious culture,so as to enlighten and education.At the same time,it bears three tasks of protecting cultural relics,spreading religious culture and promoting regional development.After investigation and research,there are also some problems in the development of religious museums,including single display,small attraction,excessive commercialization and so on.At the same time,the reasons for this situation are analyzed,including the undefined target audience,low level of creative products and unbalance of innovation and inheritance,etc.The religious museum needs to solve these problems in the long run,to ensure that the religious protection is comprehensive,the cultural propaganda is in place,and the economic development will be promoted.
