Mathematical operation competency is one of the mathematical key competencies proposed by the General Senior High School Mathematics Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition).Mathematical operation accounts for a high proportion in the college entrance examination,which causes a lot of attention in the field of mathematical education.The first year in the senior high school is a transitional period between junior high school and senior high school,which is a key period for students to cultivate mathematical operation competency.Therefore,this thesis wants to learn the current status of mathematics operation competency of first-year students at high school and propose training strategies accordingly.This thesis comprehensively used research methods such as literature analysis,questionnaire survey and so on.First,based on the collection and integration of a large amount of literature,the basic problems of this research were raised.Then,combining related theoretical research and the recommendations of the expert groups,a test and a questionnaire for mathematical operation competency of first-year students at high school were designed and applied to analyze the current status of students' mathematical operation competency.Finally,with the analysis results,strategies were proposed to improve mathematical operation competency of first-year students at high school.According to the test results,we have reached the following conclusions:(1)Mathematical operation competency of first-year students at high school still needs to be improved.The average score of mathematical operation competency test is 66.01.33.5% of the students are below average score.The situation is not optimistic.Students perform worst in the dimension of mathematic operation methods between four dimensions(operation objects,algorithms,operation ideas,operation results).(2)Mathematical operation competency is significantly associated with the integrative competence of the students.There are significant differences in students' mathematical operation competency between the four-star A high school and the threestar B high school.There are bigger differences in the dimension of understanding the operation objects and exploring the operation ideas between two schools.(3)There is no significant difference in mathematical operation competency of different genders.(4)The score rate of the questions in the test is associated with the complexity of the questions structure.(5)The typical mistakes of students include: misunderstanding of the operation object;neglecting the implicit conditions;wrong application of the algorithm due to weak foundations;using improper operation methods due to unclear operation ideas;incorrect operation results due to imprecise operation processes.According to the questionnaire results,we have reached the following conclusion: Students' insufficient confidence in mathematics operation,fear of difficulties,rare reflection and bad computing habits may affect the accuracy and rigor of operation.Accordingly,the thesis put forward training strategies from four aspects:(1)Improve the cognitive structure and cultivate mathematics operation competency;(2)Teach according to different situations of students and develop mathematics operation competency;(3)Consolidate the mathematical foundation and improve mathematics operation competency;(4)Promote non-cognitive factors to promote mathematics operation competency.
