With the continuous deepening of curriculum reform,the importance of educating people in history education has been increasing,and the research of history textbooks in academic circles has also heated up.History textbooks are an important basis for students to study history,and illustrations are an important part of history textbooks.It can promote students to learn history through historical pictures.In order to better select and edit history textbook illustrations,absorb experience of differernt history textbooks,we need to conduct in-depth analysis and comparison of illustrations in different history textbooks in different regions.In this article,the author tries to use the illustrations in the mainland unified edition of "Chinese History" and the Hong Kong Ling Kee Edition "Explore Chinese History" as research objects,analyze and compare them in whole and in individual cases.Through a detailed analysis of the selection,connotation and role of illustrations of historical events in ancient Chinese history in textbooks,summarize the characteristics of the two versions of textbooks in selecting and using these illustrations.Then sum up their respective strengths and weaknesses and further deepen their understanding of history textbook illustrations,which aroused the attention of middle school teachers on illustrations and cultivated students' ability to read pictures.Finally,drawn the relevant enlightenments for the compilation of middle school history textbook illustrations and reflected.It is hoped that this article will broaden the horizon and space of some historical textbook research and provide some references for the development and improvement of textbooks.In view of the comparatively few researches on the illustrations of historical textbooks compiled in the Mainland and the Hong Kong Chronicle Edition,this article also has some innovations.
