Since China’s reform and opening up,with the rapid economic development,the Dandong region,as China’s largest border city,has seen people’s living standards improve significantly.However,the gap between the rich and the poor is also growing.Under the new era,the poor students in the compulsory education stage are a special group.Under the dual pressure of economy and mental,they will inevitably have a series of problems in mind and psychology,which will prevent their development and furthermore have a serious impact on the family and society.Thus the function and status of psychological support for poor students in compulsory education stage have become increasingly important.This article is writing under the background that this kind of psychological assistance is becoming more and more important,and target at the poor students in the compulsory education stage in Dandong.The content of this article includes four parts:The first part mainly expounds the significance of psychological assistance for the poor students in the stage of compulsory education in Dandong area.The second part is mainly about the present situation of psychological assistance for poor students in compulsory education from the government of Dandong area,the macro aspect of society,and the micro aspect of elementary and junior high schools.The third part exemplifies some problems and some solution methods related to the investigation of several schools in the poverty-stricken areas of Dandong and the current economic mental and psychological state of the poor students in the survey sample.The fourth part puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions from the Dandong municipal government,Dandong society,Dandong small junior high school,students themselves and other aspects to the problems of psychological assistance for poor students in the compulsory education stage.The analysis method,comparative research method,questionnaire method,and statistical analysis method are used to discuss the countermeasures for the construction of psychological assistance system for poor students in the compulsory education stage in Dandong area,and try to construct a reasonable system framework.From the aspects of Dandong Government,society,Dandong’s primary and junior high schools,and the poor students themselves,it provides some theoretical references and suggestions for the construction of the psychological assistance system for poor students.The government should increase publicity and establish full-time psychological support departments.The society should pay attention to the importance of psychological support and establish a psychological support platform.Schools should strengthen the psychological support infrastructure and establish a professional psychological support teacher team.This system can not only adapt well to the needs of the development of modern society,but also make up for the lack of the current psychological assistance system for poor students in Dandong compulsory education,and provide efficient and feasible reference to improve the work ofpsychological assistance for poor students in the compulsory education stage in Dandong,at the same time lay a good foundation for subsequent research.
