With the rapid development of mobile Internet technology,cloud computing,open source software and hardware,and 3D printing technology,education has brought a subversive revolution and unprecedented challenges,especially new tasks and trends for information technology education.The NMC horizon report: 2017 edition of basic education predicts the rise of STEM learning in the field of basic education,programming as a professional accomplishment,and the development of educational technology in the field of basic education in the direction of maker space,robotics,and artificial intelligence.Therefore,the combination of STEM education and information technology is a trend.Although the information technology education in the basic education stage has been fully popularized,the actual teaching has not achieved a very good effect.There are mainly the following problems: schools,teachers and parents do not pay enough attention to the information technology subject,which is often regarded as an unimportant subject;Teachers' teaching enthusiasm is poor,it is difficult to mobilize students' learning enthusiasm;The teaching mode of information technology remains unchanged and the classroom becomes boring.In order to achieve better effects of information technology teaching,this study designed and applied a new primary school information technology teaching model under the guidance of STEM education philosophy.First of all,this paper reviews the research on STEM education,information technology education and information technology education incorporating STEM through literature research,and defines the core concepts.Secondly,on the basis of STEM education concept,and the theory of constructivism,knowledge classification theory foundation,the goal of improving students' information technology,designed the STEM education concept under the guidance of primary school information technology teaching model,according to different teaching contents,and STEM education primary school information technology teaching mode guided by the idea of segmentation for concept,design,strategy type.Then,will the compulsory education in jiangsu province information technology curriculum guidelines prescribed by the school of information technology development module part-"the Internet of things technology" as the teaching content,teaching mode is applied to the design of new information technology classroom teaching practice,after a semester of teaching practice,by observing the students classroom performance,the evaluation of his works,the interview method,questionnaire survey method,statistical analysis and other methods,from the information consciousness,information ability and information ethics,information security,information knowledge,the five dimensions to measure the change of students' information technology level.Before the teaching practice,it was found that the students had the same level of information technology.After a semester of teaching practice,the post-test information technology level of the experimental group was significantly higher than the pre-test information technology level,and also significantly higher than the post-test information technology level of the control group.Although the information technology level in the control group was higher than that in the previous test,the improvement was too small.In a word,the information technology level of the experimental group was the highest in both horizontal and vertical comparison,indicating that the primary school information technology teaching model guided by STEM education concept is feasible.It is found that the new teaching mode of information technology can not only arouse students' learning enthusiasm,but also improve their information technology level.
