“Internet Plus” era,the unprecedented development of technologies such as 3D printing,mobile internet,open source hardware,and cloud computing has brought earthshaking changes and revolutionary influence on education.Especially Information technology education faces enormous challenges.Therefore,various schools began to carry out information technology curriculum reforms.In order to cultivate the talents needed for social development.The rise of STEM education has brought the dawn of information technology curriculum reform.STEM education is based on projects or problems to teach,emphasizing the integration and application of interdisciplinary knowledge,and emphasizing students' learning experience.With the booming of “Maker”,a new curriculum model emerged,namely the information technology curriculum design model based on the STEM education concept.First,this study teases out the development of STEM education,maker education information technology curriculum,and has summarized the connotation and characteristics of STEM educationsorted and implementation Status.Moreover,by analyzing the objectives,content,and teaching modes of the information technology curriculum,The purpose is to confirm the compatibility of information technology education and STEM education.Then,target design,principle design and course model based on STEM.Design 5E inquiry learning activities and iterative creation learning activities based on different course contents.Based on this,Scratch 2.0 Programming as experimental research objects.The paper presents the implementation process of the Scratch Commentary Competition and the Carbon Footprint Calculator.In the end,comparison of data between experimental class and control class,these data include the information literacy,curriculum attitude,problem solving ability,innovation ability,critical thinking ability survey data,curriculum project results and student interviews in the experimental class.STEM model is feasible and effective for students' ability training.
