Sets are the foundation of the entire high school mathematics.On the one hand,in the knowledge,the Functions and other concepts are defined on the basis of the concept of sets.On the other hand,in the study method,it can help students to develop the capacity of abstract thinking in Math and form a better study pattern.Set language is the basic language of modern mathematics,students learn to describe mathematical objects in mathematical language.The thought of set is helpful to construct the concept system of mathematical knowledge and form the thinking mode of mathematical learning.Author collected the problems which students meet in set-learning by investigating firstly.And then,in order to solve these problems,effective teaching strategies are proposed.At the same time,it shows some teaching suggestions about set for teachers and helps student understand the related knowledge better and enhance the learning ability.Questionnaire survey,interview and literature research were used in the research process.By observing the performance of students in class,assignments,test questionnaires and interviewing teachers and students,and the following problems were found in the process of students' collective learning.Students' conceptual knowledge is a mechanical memory.Once the memory is confused,they will give wrong answers.There are difficulties in the conversion between the literal language and the symbolic language in the title.For the comprehensive problem,it is easy to ignore the implicit conditions in the problem,resulting in problem solving errors.The following suggestions are given for the problems found.In the process of teaching,teachers should put students in the position of researchers,create situations to guide students to abstract mathematical concepts from specific situations and express them with mathematical language.According to the students' level of acceptance and understanding,the law of cognitive development and the law of physical and mental development,the teaching design is carried out.Learning mathematics requires clear understanding,and teaching mathematics also requires clear understanding.Teachers and students should go through the process of the occurrence and development of knowledge in order to achieve above goals.Teachers should integrate mathematics culture into classroom teaching and improve students' understanding of mathematical symbols;In the process of teaching,teachers are notonly to teach students to learn knowledge,but also to teach students how to learn.Teachers need to analyze teaching materials and status of set in syllabus.So that they can have a clear comprehension of knowledge and make it an integrity to impart to student.Not only does it connect different knowledge but also train students to have a holistic thinking.It is more important to master the learning methods.
