Reading is getting more and more attention.The Chinese textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education began to appear skimming text from grade 3,and with the increasing proportion of the grade,the importance is gradually highlighted.As the initial stage of skimming text,grade 3 plays an important role in improving students’ ability of skimming text and forming their habits.What is the current situation of skimming text teaching in grade 3 of Beijing S primary school?What are the problems?How to improve?It is necessary to carry out thematic research.This paper mainly uses the interview method to investigate the understanding and behavior of 7 teachers in Beijing S primary school in skimming text teaching strategy;then uses the questionnaire method to investigate the basic situation of the grade 3 students in Beijing S primary school in learning skimming text and the students’ attitude and behavior to the current teaching strategy.So,we can get the current situation and problems of the current teaching strategy,analyze the reasons for the problems of the current teaching strategy,and give suggestions for improvement.This paper focuses on three aspects of "current situation and problems-causes of problems-suggestions for improvement".In the part of investigating the current situation and existing problems,the teaching strategy of skimming text in grade 3 of S primary school in Beijing has done well,but there are some problems in Teachers’ cognition and behavior.At the cognitive level,teachers lack of understanding of the study of Curriculum strategies,and the problems of current teaching straStandards,the role of improving reading performance of current teaching tegies.At the behavioral level,there is no distinction between the teaching objectives of skimming texts and intensive texts.Teachers use too many network resources for reference when choosing the media.The preview assignments arranged are large in capacity and difficult in content.The teaching methods of teachers are ineffective.The teaching content ignores the students’ learning situation.The evaluation method is not conducive to the overall development of students.In the aspect of problem cause analysis.Teachers do not pay enough attention to the study of Curriculum Standards,the guidance of reading methods and the reflection of teaching.At the behavioral level,teachers can’t reflect the characteristics of skimming text when setting teaching objectives,the media selection doesn’t study the text in depth,the preview homework is too detailed and specific,the way teachers use discussion to organize group cooperative learning can’t be organized orderly,teachers can’t explain the teaching content according to the learning situation,and the evaluation method can’t play a guiding and incentive role.In addition,students have poor reading foundation,serious learning slack psychology,and insufficient family learning atmosphere.These reasons also make teachers have to reduce the standard,which is one of the reasons for the problems in teaching strategies.In terms of suggestions for improvement.At the cognitive level,teachers should strengthen the study on the teaching requirements of skimming texts in the Curriculum Standards and teaching materials,pay attention to the guidance of reading methods,and pay attention to teaching reflection.At the behavioral level,teachers should transfer and use the knowledge in the intensive reading text in the teaching objectives,and at the same time,they should not separate the words from the content of the article;the preparation of multimedia resources should be based on the text,with the help of multimedia to properly expand the extracurricular knowledge,not to win over the host;the preview homework should serve the teaching objectives,while retaining the curiosity of students;it should be organized in an orderly way when teaching with discussion method,We should pay special attention to the introverted students,the students with lower grades and the naughty students,explain the key points,difficulties and easily confused points in students’ study according to the learning situation,and encourage students’ expression ability and cooperation spirit in teaching evaluation.In the aspect of strengthening students’ learning foundation,we should increase students’ extracurricular reading,improve students’ learning will and strengthen home school cooperation.
