The Teaching Strategies Of The Skimming Text

The skimming text is a kind of texts, which is in company with intensive reading text. It has a unique status and role in Chinese teaching. This study uses the method of literature analysis, case analysis, comparative analysis and investigation, and found that the current the situation of skimming text teaching is unsatisfactory. The main reason is that teachers have not been clearly aware of the characteristics of the skimming text, which leads to the incorrectly handle of the relation of skimming text and intensive reading text teaching. The teaching value of skimming text are consolidate, migration and internalizing students’ knowledge which they have learned, supply the intensive reading text teaching, and cultivating students’reading ability. It also has opposition and uniform relation with intensive reading text. The characteristics of the skimming text make us pinpoint the teaching goal, highlight the characteristics of skimming text and have a close integration with intensive reading text. Only by this, can the skimming text play a part in cultivating the students’ reading ability.
