STEM education,as a new concept in education circles,has developed rapidly in the educational reform and practice in various countries.At the beginning,STEM education is the integration of science,technology,engineering and mathematics,but its expanded meaning also includes art and reading.In order to further promote the development of STEM curriculum in primary schools in our country,this paper summarizes and analyses the study of international STEM education,STEM curriculum and STEM curriculum case studies through literature method.It reports that STEM education in foreign countries has developed maturely and rapidly,and its content will be enriched constantly.The research focuses on the construction of educational platform,Curriculum development,implementation and resource cooperation.Domestic STEM education is being introduced,experimented and localized.In the transformation stage,the research focuses on the current situation of the development and validation of curriculum cases.Taking Taylor's Principle as the framework,through case study and text analysis,this paper makes a detailed analysis of STEM curriculum cases in American primary schools,and makes a comparative analysis of typical STEM curriculum cases in China.It is concluded that STEM curriculum in American primary schools tends to be cognitive and humanistic,focusing on rich curriculum content centered on science,engineering and technology,with the cultivation of higher-order thinking as the core.In the course organization and development,innovative curriculum implementation methods and democratic evaluation methods are adopted.However,the domestic STEM curriculum objectives and contents are more in line with STEM curriculum.The conclusion is that the curriculum organization strategy is rigid,too much training of low-level thinking,less innovative curriculum implementation and single evaluation method.Through case interviews,the author understands the status quo of the development and introduction of STEM curriculum resources in primary schools,such as single mode,limited class hours,teachers' unclear understanding of STEM curriculum,and teachers' inadequate abilities.Based on the research results and current situation,the typical domestic STEM curriculum cases are improved and designed in order to provide some enlightenment for the development of STEM curriculum in China.
