Since 1980s, the international competition is becoming more and more serious,and the economic globalization has become an irresistible historical trend. STEM education was came up with by America to maintain global leadership of the national economy. STEM is the education which has integrated subjects like science,technology, engineering and mathematics through the means of study like problem,project as well as engineering design. STEM education is a reflection of the concept of STEM, and is also a reflection of educational practice.The thesis is aimed to explore the practice curriculum of STEM education, study and sort out the relevant literature materials, and based on the aspects of the principles and characteristics of STEM curriculum arrangement to find out the item of development of primary school science special case-small water tank. In addition, this paper explored the further study on the content of activities framework on the basis of this theme, and compiled into a Likert scale consists of three fields of science,technology,mathematics. Each problem set five options: it is necessary and very necessary, necessary, not essential, not necessary, and they were assigned to 5, 4, 3,2,1 respectively through the positive integral way. A questionnaire survey was conducted among STEM experts and primary school science teachers in Nanjing.According to the statistical analysis of the results, retain the activities which score was higher than the level of 3.0, and delete the lower scores. Besides, the paper summarized the relationship between the activities logic and type, ultimately to determine the framework of these two activities under the theme of small water tank.Activity one: Removing visible impurities in water. Activity two: Observing tiny animals and plants in water. Activity three: Calculating the number of bacteria in water. Activity four: Producing the common sterilization methods in practice. Activity five: Searching for the self purification of plants. Ultimately require students to complete the project design -"small water tank" and show communication. In order to provide a reference for the integration of STEM education in science education and curriculum design.
