Rural basic education has been deeply concerned by the state and educational scholars.Rural junior middle school students are an important group of rural basic education.The quality of their school life not only reflects the level of rural basic education,but also relates to the lifelong development of rural junior middle school students.Improving the school life quality of rural junior middle school students is conducive to the physical and mental health development of rural junior middle school students,as well as the improvement of rural junior middle school education level.At the same time,the improvement of the school life quality level of rural junior middle school students is also conducive to further balancing urban and rural education resources and promoting educational equity.This study defines the core concept of "the quality of school life" as:the degree of sufficiency of the basic conditions provided by the school around the development of the students and the satisfaction and identity of the students in their school life,including material conditions,teacher-student relationship,peer relationship,activity opportunities,homework attitudes,learning ability and attitudes,negative emotions and self-satisfaction.This study takes 2 rural junior middle schools in Y County of Anhui Province as an example.It uses a combination of questionnaires and interviews to study the material conditions,teacher-student relationship,peer relationship,activity opportunities,learning ability and attitudes,homework attitudes,self-satisfaction and negative emotions,and comprehensively measures the adaption of the rural junior middle students in terms of the school environment,relationships,study and psychological state.Using SPSS22.0 to analyze the collected data.It is found that the quality of school life of rural junior middle school students mainly has the following problems:the supply of material resources in rural junior middle schools is insufficient,the infrastructure needs to be improved;The frequency of school cultural activities of rural junior middle school students is not high,and the opportunities for students' school activities are small;The burden is heavy and the learning ability is low;Rural junior middle school students have more negative emotions and lower self-satisfaction.The main reasons for these problems are:the local government has limited investment in education for junior middle schools;The school attaches less importance to students' cultural activities;The school pays insufficient attention to students' mentality and the support is not strong;The function of family education is not obtained effectively.In response to these problems and causes analysis,the improvement strategy is proposed from the following aspects:Increasing educational investment to lay a material foundation for improving the quality of school life of rural junior middle school students;Relying on campus cultural activities to enrich the experience of rural junior middle school students in school activities;Alleviating the excessive academic pressure of rural junior middle school students and enhancing their sense of academic achievement;Enhancing the psychological services of rural junior middle schools to promote the happiness of school life;Establish deep cooperation between home and school to promote emotional care for rural junior high school students.
