In 2017,the Ministty of Education released the geography curriculum standards for senior high schools(2017 edition),which proposed "geographic practical literacy".The new curriculum standard requires that the school must attach importance to the cultivation of high school students' geographic practical quality.Teachers are the practitioners of teaching tasks.The level of students' core quality of geographic practical ability is largely intluenced by teachers.Therefore,it is bound to require senior high school geography teachers to improve their practical ability.In this paper,the practical ability of senior high school geography teachers(in a narrow sense)is defined as the social investigation ability,simulation experiment ability and field investigation ability that senior high school geography teachers should have in the process of cultivating students' "practical ability of geography".By means of questionnaire survey,interview and statistical analysis,this paper investigates and analyzes the current situation of high school geography teachers' practical ability,finds out the existing problems and shortcomings,and proposes strategies for improvement on this basis,so as to provide some references for the professional development of high school geography teachers.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:At present,schools do not pay much attention to the practical ability of geography teachers.High school geography teachers have relatively higher awareness of practical ability and simulation experiment ability,while low social investigation ability and field investigation ability.In short,the overall level of high school geography teachers' practical ability is relatively low at this stage.The reasons for the low level of geography teachers' practical ability are analyzed from the two aspects of schools and teachers.Including imperfect teaching environment and facilities,insufficient attention to geography teachers' practical ability,and the lack of evaluation mechanism for geography teachers' practical ability.Teachers' own education concept lags behind,lacks the geography practice experience,doesn't cherish the training opportunity.Promotion strategies are put forward,at the school level:raising funds,actively creating a good geography teaching environment;Carrying out training to enhance the practical ability of geography teachers;Establishing and improving the evaluation mechanism.At the level of teachers:deepening the reform of normal education and strengthening the practical education of geography students;establishing the concept of lifelong learning;Strengthening cooperation and exchanges among teachers.
