At present,China is in a new era of socialism.The transformation of the times and the construction of social modernization have placed higher demands on the quality of the people.It is necessary to further strengthen civic education and improve the quality and level of civic education.As the main channel of civic education in our country,ideological and political course is of great significance in the cultivation of civic literacy.The traditional ideological and political course has made certain research on civic education and achieved certain results,but it is still difficult to meet the development requirements of our national quality.With the development and implementation of the key competency of disciplines,a new opportunity is provided for improving the quality of civic education in the ideological and political courses.This thesis discusses the civic education in ideological and political courses under the guidance of the theory of the key competency of disciplines.First of all,it introduces the current studies of key competency and civic education abroad and at home and ofcivic education of ideological and political courses in China.Presenting the study of civic education in ideological and political courses and combined with the connotation and requirements of the key competency of ideological and political discipline,this paper summarizes the characteristics of civic education in ideological and political courses based on the key competency of disciplines and the principles to be adhered to in the implementation process.Exploring the challenges faced by civic education based on the key competency of disciplines,mainly the relationship between theory and practice is difficult to unify;the relationship between presupposition and generation is difficult to grasp;the relationship between universality and individuality is difficult to balance;and the relationship between competency and evaluation is difficult to coordinate.Challenges above arise mainly because teachers have not had the educational quality combined with the key competency of disciplines,students have not developed the approach to learning that is compatible with the key competency of disciplines,and the curriculum has not formed the education system to support the theory of the key competency of disciplines.In consideration of these reasons and challenges,the author proposes the general strategies and specific strategies to be followed in the ideological and political courses on civic education based on the theory of the key competency of disciplines and finally verifies them by practical teaching.The research results prove that it is feasible to conduct civic education in ideological and political courses based on the theory of the key competency of disciplines,which is helpful to improve students' civic literacy,and provides some theoretical reference and methodological guidance for the improvement of civic education in ideological and political courses.
