Skill-biased Technological Progress And Regional Wage Divergence In Our Country

Biased technological progress leads to different changes of marginal factor output,and the reward of the factor is determined by marginal factor output,so biased technological progress leads to unbalanced changes in the distribution of different factor rewards.And biased technology progress brings about factor owner income gap.On the other hand,different areas have heterogeneous factor endowment and biased progress will lead to unbalanced changes in the remuneration of factor owners between regions.In other words,biased technological progress is one of the reasons for the regional wage gap.Now,economy is in the era of knowledge economy,and biased technological progress is manifested as skills-biased technological progress.So,the paper focuses on the bias of skill progress in the era of knowledge economy,and the paper studies its impact on regional wage gap from this perspective.It has certain significance to solve the problem of widening regional wage gap in China.Firstly,this paper puts forward the research background,research significance,research methods,technical route and contribution of this paper.This paper reviews the relevant literature on skill-biased technological change and regional income inequality,and summarizes the characteristics and limitations of existing research.In order to analyze the causes of Regional Wage Gap in China,this paper innovatively combines skill-biased technological change with agglomeration to analyze the income gap of heterogeneity workers.Secondly,this paper constructs a theoretical model of skill-biased technological change and the effect of labor agglomeration on Regional Wage gap.The paper explains the endogenous mechanism of skill-biased technological change,and points out the mechanism of regional selection for workers in developed and underdeveloped regions.And then this paper proposes the expression of wages for different skilled workers in different regions so as to study theoretically the Regional Wage Determination Mechanism.And this part provides a theoretical basis for the following empirical research.Thirdly,this paper empirically studies the comprehensive effects of skill-biased technological change and labor agglomeration on the change of Regional Wage Gap in China.Based on the micro-data of China Household Income Survey(CHIP)in 1988,1995,2002 and 2013,this paper conducts a series of empirical studies on the quantitative basis of skill-biased technological change and agglomeration effect in different regions.The results show that it has regional wages in china from 1988 to 2013,and the regional wage gap is increasing.The reason for the Regional Wage Gap in a long period of time is the comprehensive influence of skill-biased technological change and agglomeration,which shows that skill-biased technological change enlarges the wage gap of workers by acting on high-skilled workers,and agglomeration effect promotes the formation of regional wage gap by continuously increasing the wages of all workers through the regional mobility of workers.This paper also carries out counter-factual analysis,and finds that skill-biased technological progress is the most important factor leading to the Regional Wage gap.Finally,the conclusion of this paper is summarized,and the policy enlightenment to narrow the regional wage gap and promote balanced development is put forward.The suggestions include developing education to improve the premium mechanism of human capital,vigorously promoting innovation-driven development strategy to promote development with technological progress and paying attention to the rational flow of factors to utilize the agglomeration effect rationally,etc.In addition,this paper puts forward some suggestions for further study.
