| Approach to learning is the focus of the reform of preschool education all over the world and an essential element of the learning process and learning effect.It is of great value for preschool children to adapt to primary and lifelong development.This study conducted 2 studies on the performance assessment of preschool children’s approach to learning and the development of senior children’s approach to learning.In the first part,the in-depth analysis of concept,structural elements of children’s approach to learning and definition of performance assessment are elucidated.Combined with the relevant evaluation tools of children’s approach to learning,self-made evaluation tool comes out and the content of performance assessment of children’s approach to learning is defined as five dimensions,such as initiative,concentration,perseverance,ability of reflection and interpretation,creativity.The performance task is to spell the jigsaw puzzle and the scoring rules is formulated,which can be a performance assessment tools for children’s approach to learning basically meeting the requirements of psychometrics.In the second part,108 preschool senior children in 2 kindergartens in Guangzhou were randomly selected as the research subjects.The study methods of situational measurement and mission oral report were used to score the performance of children’s approach to learning by the self-made performance evaluation tools during the spelling of jigsaw puzzle.The conclusion is as follows:First,the approach to learning of senior children is interrelated during the jigsaw puzzle.There is a significant correlation between initiative,concentration,persistence,ability of reflection and interpretation,while there is no significant correlation between persistence and creativity.Second,the score of perseverance and concentration is higher,and the score of planning and ability of reflection and interpretation is low;There is no significant difference in the level of the three observation indexes of creativity;There are obvious individual differences in creativity,especially the originality.Third,the approach to learning of senior children in the jigsaw puzzle shows the following characteristics:(1)Initiative: Children are very active in the operating materials and activities of interest,but the level of planning ability is low and has obvious generating characteristics.It is manifested in the state of thinking pause,with self-centered language.(2)Concentration: Children with high concentration have strong anti-interference ability and obvious external behavior.(3)Persistence: Children’s activities of interest persist for a long time,and difficulties can be regulated and monitored through self-centered speech.(4)Ability of reflective and explanatory abilities: Children are more likely to perceive difficulties and explain strategies in specific situations,deep emotional experiences and adult’s guidance.(5)Creativity: The pattern of children’s free spelling is closely related to their life experience.Fourth,there was no significant gender difference between children’s initiative,concentration,persistence,ability of reflection and interpretation,and their observation indexes,but the results of girls’ creativity and their three observation indexes were significantly higher than those of boys.At last,the development characteristics and gender differences of approach to learning of senior children were discussed in detail.The following suggestions were put forward:According to the one-day performance assessment of children,the low structure game materials should be put on,and the ability to cultivate children’s planning,ability of reflection and interpretation and creativity of boys should be emphasized. |
