Research On The Relationship Between Personality, Mobile Phone Use Behavior Preference And Loneliness Of Senior High School Students

Smartphone has been rapidly taking place of feature phone which was just used for calling and texting.Besides the functions of mobile-phone is no longer limited to calling and texting.Smartphone gradually spreads through the whole society in every age of people,which includes senior high school students.However,the high school students are in a critical stage in the life,with their physical growing and mental becoming more sensitive.Owing to being far away from home and living a brand-new school life,a great many high school students choose to use Smartphone in order to dissolve their negative feelings through different applications.This study focuses on the grade 1 and grade 2 students in high school in S city,Hunan province.Considering the particularity of the students in grade 3,who is faced with the pressure of college entrance examination,this study has not carried out in this group.Among 764 students from the grade 1 and grade 2,I have taken the random selection and have selected 55 students as main object in each grade.The study concentrates on the current situation of the behavior preference of using mobile-phone,as well as the loneliness in senior high school students;on the relationship among personalities traits;the behavior preference of using mobile-phone and loneliness in senior high school students.The final conclusions are following below:1.Senior high school students are more likely to use their Smartphone to do the following things: chatting online;watching videos;using alarm clock and calendar in their Smartphone;taking photos and shooting;using electronic dictionary and calculator in their Smartphone.2.The behavior preference on how long senior high school students use their Smartphone shows the significant difference on grade;as well as gender.High school students in grade 1 tend to spend a long time in using their Smartphone.In addition,girls tend to spend more time on their Smartphone than boys.3.The behavior preference on what senior high school students use applications in their Smartphone shows the significant difference on grade;and whether they board or not.Students in grade 1 prefer the Smartphone's function of communication,while students in grade 2 more like the Smartphone's function of getting information.Additionally,boarders tend to use the Smartphone's function of getting information,while externs prefer the Smartphone's function of communication.4.Senior high school students in H high school show a normal level of loneliness in general.Nevertheless,there are still a few students with high level of loneliness.And students in grade 1 show a significant high-level of loneliness than students in grade 2.Moreover,girls tend to be high-level of loneliness than boy.5.The loneliness of senior high school students is significantly related to their behavior preference on how long they use Smartphone.What's more,the three things,“the average time of using Smartphone during school time”;“the frequency of checking Smartphone during time confetti”;“the frequency of using Smartphone until late at night in the case of boarding”,are all positive related to the loneliness of senior high school students.6.There is a relationship among personality traits;the behavior preference of using mobile-phone and loneliness in senior high school students.(1)Student who shows high level of neuroticism is more likely to encounter loneliness;(2)Student who shows high level of neuroticism could be a higher level of loneliness by spending more time on Smartphone;(3)The most primary motivation of high school students' using Smartphone is “communication”.Moreover,this kind of motivation leads to every behavior preference on what senior high school students use applications in their Smartphone,such as getting information;enjoying entertainment;communicating;doing transaction.
