Reading is an important way for students to learn and it is an important activity for human beings based on society.Reading is not only a patent for Chinese and English subjects, but also for mathematical learning. Moreover,in the recent years, mathematical reading has raised attention in education system in China and in the world. After reviewing literature on mathematical reading at home and abroad, the author found that there is relatively little research on primary school students’ mathematical reading. The author focuses on primary school students through questionnaires, teacher interviews, and text analysis. To find the current problems and reasons of primary school students’ mathematics reading.Second, the author put forward the strategies and guidances for primary school students and teachers about mathematical reading.Primary school mathematical reading is primary school students in their existing knowledge of mathematical reading text on the basis of experience perception, understanding and memory,so as to realize the process of mathematical meaning of personal construct.Mathematical reading has many characteristics, such as accuracy and abstract. The author thinks that the mathematical reading contents including in-class reading and extent mathematical reading.Mathematical reading help develop pupils’ autonomous learning ability, communication skills in mathematics, mathematical humanistic spirit value. The questionnaire includes 5 dimensions: primary school students’ reading awareness, reading content, reading habits, reading environment, and teachers’ reading guidances. The teacher interview includes 3 dimensions : teachers’ mathematical reading comprehension, mathematical reading problems and reading guidances. In terms of text analysis, the author analyzed extended reading materials in mathematics textbooks from quantitative and background.Through the application of the above three methods, the author found five problems about primary school students’ mathematical reading: the shallowness of mathematical reading awareness, weak language recognition, comprehension and transformation ability, narrow reading range, poor reading habits, and obvious difference in urban and rural. The author indicated that there are five reasons for the above-mentioned problems: the cognitive development of primary school students is limited, the teachers’ poor mathematics reading instruction, the lack of school mathematical reading atmosphere, the lack of teachers’ mathematical reading experience, and the uneven distribution of urban and rural reading resources. Finally, the author given the strategy to guide primary school students in mathematicalreading.First,to improve mathematical reading comprehension of primary school mathematics They could change the teaching mode and bring mathematical reading into mathematical teaching.Second,to pay attention to the reading guidance of the math textbook compacts the students’ mathematical language foundation.Third,to pay attention to the guidance of primary school students’ extent mathematical reading, broaden horizon and improving learning interesting.Fourth,to develop primary school students’ mathematical reading habit such as questioning and writing and to develop their lifelong learning ideas to learn knowledge.
