Research On The Protection Of Children's Rights Under The Framework Of The United Nations

Children are the initial form of human life,symbolizing the future and hope.However,they,like women and the elderly,have their own natural disadvantages.Because they are not mature in body and mind,they cannot actively strive for their own rights,and they are relatively in a more vulnerable position among the vulnerable groups.Therefore,the protection of children’s rights is essential.In order to systematically study the protection of children’s rights under the framework of the United Nations,I adopted historical research method and case study method to define the conception of children and classify children’s rights protection;introduced the actions and practical results of the United Nations for protecting children’s rights and briefly analyzed the problems and development prospect.In the article,The children means anyone under the age of 18.The protection of children’s rights mainly includes the rights of survival,development and children’s rights under special circumstances.The study found that the United Nations adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child and set up Committee on the Rights of the Child to monitor its implementation,and also established a special agency,the United Nations Children’s Fund to protect children’s rights.UNICEF is committed to save children’s lives,to defend their rights,and to help them fulfil their potential.Thus,UNICEF is active in child protection and acceptance,child survival,education,social policy,emergency response,gender,innovation for children,supply and logistics,research and analysis,and made great contributions to the protection of children’s rights in the world.UNICEF has made remarkable results in child rights protection in different countries,regions and fields,especially in ending Female genital mutilation represented by Nigeria and girls’ education represented by back-to-learning movement.By cooperating with UNICEF,China made contributions to the protection of children’s rights in the world.The study points out that there are inevitably some problems in the protection of children’s rights of the United Nations,yet its achievements are remarkable and its development prospect are optimistic and bright.This means that the protection of children’s rights is concerned and developed under the guidance of the United Nations and its agency,UNICEF,which has a positive and far-reaching impact on the protection of children’s rights in the world.
