With the deepening of cultural exchanges between China and Russia,more and more Russian contemporary literary works have entered the vision of Chinese readers.Biographies,as a special form of literary works,play a pivotal role in Sino-Russian cultural exchanges.Translating biographies not only allows us to understand the achievements of outstanding Russian figures,but also gives us a deeper understanding of Russian culture.Mikhail Margolis is a well-known journalist and writer in Russia.He has published many articles in the Teacher’s Journal,Bell Toll,New Newspaper,Moscow News and other publications.He is also the resident music critic of The News.The work is based on the life of the Soviet Union and Russia and tells the growth of Garrick.At the same time,the expressions of "first person" and "third person" are used to highlight the characteristics of this biography,which is also one of the difficulties in text translation.The text "The Song of the Dragon-Biography of Galik Sukachev" is written by Mikhail · Margolis based on his interview with Garik Sukachev.The book,published in 2018,is the only biographical work authored by Sukachev.There is no translation in China.This paper is a translation practice report based on the biographical work "The Song of the Dragon-Biography of Galik Sukachev".In the translation,the author adopts different translation methods such as addition,subtraction and conversion.From two aspects of vocabulary and sentence,the text is analyzed and interpreted in combination with the style characteristics and the background of the times.I hope to take this opportunity to improve my translation level and inject new vitality into the translation research of biographical works.
