Positive and negative interrogative sentences are a special kind of sentence pattern in Chinese interrogative sentences. The main feature of this sentence pattern is the combination of affirmative and negative forms in predicates or other components. There is no sentence pattern completely corresponding to Chinese positive and negative interrogative sentences in English. Therefore, for native English speakers, the acquisition of Chinese positive and negative interrogative sentences is a major difficulty in their Chinese learning.Although the ontology research on Chinese positive and negative questions is relatively comprehensive, there is still much room in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and acquisition research based on localization. This paper takes native English speakers as the research object, and investigates the acquisition of Chinese positive and negative questions by foreign students whose mother tongue is English through questionnaires.Based on error analysis theory, comparative analysis theory and second language acquisition strategy, the paper analyzes the use of positive and negative questions by native English speakers, finds out the types and causes of errors that foreign students are prone to,and puts forward targeted teaching strategies. It is hoped that it can provide useful reference for the practice of Chinese teaching, especially to avoid the occurrence of errors in the acquisition of Chinese positive and negative interrogative sentences by native English speakers.
