On The Artistic Value Of The Combination Of Mosaic Mosaic And Ready-made Art

The art of mosaic sprouted since the prosperous period of Sumerian civilization,was mainly developed and spread in the age of ancient Greek and ancient Rome,and is considered as one of the oldest arts in human history.However,the arts never stopped evolving and reached the present stage through continuous breakthroughs.The views of artists have been unprecedented emancipated,the forms of the arts are unparalled diversified,and the carriers of arts are all-encompassing.Currently,facing the overwhelmingly inclusiveness of the contemporary arts,are there any new potentials for the ancient art of mosaic? Based on personal artistic exploration,the author combined the readymade art with the art of mosaics,and explored the artistic value of the combination of the two art forms.The readymade art started its development in the twentieth century and is just like a young man,while the art of mosaic is already centuried and like an old-timer,definitely it is such a big challenge for them to collide and sparkle.What are the consequences of the combination? An innovation or just a retro? What are the relationship and rationality of the two art forms in the combination? Firstly,this paper explored the origin and characteristics of the two art forms,and then combined the analysis of art cases,as well as the author’s own perceptual experience of materials in practical operation,so that to seek answers for the above questions.
