A Study On The Artistry And Practicability Of Self-script In Font Design

Handwriting itself is a kind of appellation in the concept of calligraphy,which is unique.However,handwriting has limitations in contemporary design and cannot meet the needs of today’s design field.Self-script is the inheritance and development of handwriting.Self-script is to adapt to the development of the new era,it is based on the concept of calligraphy handwriting more suitable for the field of design concept.Self-script is the concept of calligraphy added to the concept of design.The standard to measure the character of self-script is that it is brought into the concept of calligraphy,and font designers participate in it.The results are applied in the field of design,with visual communication and Internet communication properties.Based on the investigation of fangzheng font bank,fangzheng handwriting,hanyi font bank and other companies as well as the actual cases of self-style,this paper discusses the basic attributes of self-style,that is,emotion,practice,imagination,technical performance,application and virtuous circle.From the artistic and practical aspects to verify the feasibility of self-writing.In the major of visual communication,text design is also attached great importance.Text is not only a visual symbol,but also carries the burden of cultural communication.Beautiful and good-looking text design can arouse the resonance of viewers.Nowadays,the wide spread of portable and convenient communication devices leads to the fact that people seldom write with a pen.As a result,the public is unfamiliar with handwritten words,and "forgetting to write with a pen" has become a common phenomenon.For the emergence of this phenomenon,the original intention of this paper is to reawaken Chinese people’s cognition of Chinese characters.
