This paper makes a study on font design of calligraphy aesthetics of Mi Fu.Studying calligraphy aesthetics is an important way for designers to create font design,is also the responsibility for people to inherit and carry forward the culture of Chinese calligraphy.The font design today is developed based on previous calligraphy evolution.These different kinds of fonts have close relations and can’t be treat separately.This paper illustrates the changes and significance of Chinese calligraphy in different times and makes a detailed comparison and analysis on the calligraphy style of Mi Fu,Cai Xiang,Huang Tingjian and Su shi.This paper is to study the aesthetic thought of Mi Dian(The nickname of Mi Fu)calligraphy,which is has the feature of pursuing for artistic concept advocated by calligraphers in the Song dynasty but has its own distinct personality,as the theoretical basis of the paper.Then this paper talks about the origin and development of font design,distinguishes the Chinese character font design and subdivides it into the creative font design of Chinese characters.The core of this paper is the creative font design and application of Chinese characters based on Mi Fu’s calligraphy aesthetics.The first part of this paper studies and analyzes the present situation and research significance of Mi Fu’s calligraphy aesthetics and font design,and the second part discusses the formation and development of Mi Fu’s calligraphy aesthetic style and the influence of his aesthetic thoughts on later generations and contemporary learners.The third part is to find out the relationship between Mi Fu’s calligraphy style and creative font form language of Chinese character,and tries to explore the aesthetic theoretical basis of creative font design of Chinese character from Mi Fu’s aesthetic thoughts such as "pursuing for artistic concept","naivety" and "seeking change".The fourth part analyzes the characteristics of calligraphy,method of the use of ink and water,script and rules in calligraphy works of Mi Fu,and designs with the theme of Wujiang Chuihong Pavilion,which is one of the poems in Shu Su Tie,and based on the principle of font design.Combined with Mi Fu calligraphy aesthetic thought,the design and standardization are carried out from the aspects of brush shape generalization,script features,layout and grayscale adjustment.The fifth part is the practical display part of the topic,mainly in the form of poster design,creative font design,typesetting and unified adjustment.Through the analysis of Mi Fu’s calligraphy aesthetic thought,this paper explores the aesthetic theory which is closely related to Chinese character font design,to arouse the aesthetic consciousness in traditional calligraphy.Based on that,this paper summarizes the functional significance of creative calligraphy font design based on Mi Fu’s aesthetic thought,finds out the aesthetic support methods that can be used and can be used for reference in Chinese font design,and tries the creative calligraphy font design practice from the aesthetic aspect based on the relationship between the Mi Fu’s calligraphy aesthetic thought and Chinese character font design. |
