Shupin by Yu Jianwu in the Southern Dynasties and Shuhoupin by Li Sizhen in the early Tang Dynasty both make important contributions to the calligraphy evaluation.Similarly, both of them take the calligraphy works of ancient calligraphers as the object to elaborate and evaluate the artistic style.Li Sizhen's Shuhoupin is regarded as the continuation and development of Yu Jianwu's,which has a close relationship with Shupin.Since art evaluation is the manifestation of aesthetic subjective evaluation, thus,in this article,we will compare Shupin with Shuhoupin from the perspective of elvaluation veiw, more sepcificly, the standards of quality evaluation, the methods of quality evaluation, and the selection of the characters of the two books will be investigated respectively, thus to analyze the elvaluation veiw as well as the aesthetic standards of them.Given that the elvaluation veiw of the books are closely related to the time,so by comparing the elvaluation veiw of them,we could not only explore the common aesthetic orientation from the Southern Dynasties to the early Tang Dynasty, but also can be used to observe the evolution of the evaluation of calligraphy criticism from the Southern Dynasty to the early Tang Dynasty to some extent.
