Huizhou West Lake is located in Huizhou,Guangdong Province,and is one of the famous scenic spots in Ling Nan Area.It is surrounded by mountains and connected by floating islands,the antique buildings are hidden in lush trees and it has the reputation of “Zhuluo Xizi”.Through the ages,men of letters came to Huizhou West Lake and leaving many literary works.They leaving precious cultural heritage for Huizhou West Lake and making it became a typical literary landscape.This paper uses the theory and method of literary geography to study the literary writing of Huizhou West Lake landscape.At first,the paper discusses the definition of “landscape” and “literary landscape”,and combines the general situation of Huizhou West Lake to carding how it evolves from a natural landscape to a cultural landscape.Then,it analyses the landscape composition of Huizhou West Lake from three aspects: one is the natural landscape of water area,mountains,islands,animals,vegetation and other natural landscape;the other is the distribution and function of human landscape,such as tombs,bridges,levees,towers and pavilions;the third is the comprehensive landscape with both natural and human elements.This paper focuses on the systematic arrange and analysis of the literary writings related to the Huizhou West Lake,and combined with the specific landscape,such as the“water curtain and waterfall” in the natural landscape,the Zhaoyun tomb,Linghui Temple,Zhunti Temple in the humanistic landscape,as well as the comprehensive landscape of “Sizhou Tower in setting sun” and “Sizhou Tower with wavelets” and so on.It shows the style and connotation of Huizhou West Lake and makes it a typical literary landscape through the analysis of the geographical description and space shape in literary works.Finally,from the relationship between literature and landscape,this paper discusses the significance of Huizhou West Lake’s literary writing to literary creation itself,regional cultural identity,society and economy. |
