Application And Value Analysis Of Calligraphy In The Cultural Landscape Of West Lake

The art form of calligraphy plays an important role in the cultural landscape of contemporary Chinese cities and also as an important element in the cultural connotation of west lake in Hangzhou.Hangzhou west lake as a world cultural landscape heritage,the scenic area has a large number of applications to use calligraphy.Because of the multiple cultural values generated by the application in the landscape,the cultural connotation of the West Lake is also more important.However,in today’s social situation,the public lacks the understanding of the art of calligraphy used in public spaces.This paper takes the calligraphy art works in the existing scenic spots of the West Lake Cultural Landscape as the research object from the six elements of the West Lake cultural landscape,the “West Lake Ten Scenes Title Landscape” and “Historical Sites of West Lake Culture” as two aspects,focusing on the application value of calligraphy art in the current society from the types,quantity,content,form and creator identity of calligraphy works,and comparing the current situation of applying calligraphy art in the current society,hoping that the public will pay attention to the application of calligraphy art in public space and realize the aesthetic value of calligraphy art in public space.
