The primary stage is not only an important period for the rapid development of students' individual personality,intelligence and body structure,but also an important stage for the cultivation of their world outlook,outlook on life,values,ideological and moral quality and moral behavior habits.With the rapid development of the market economy in today's society,some social problems that run counter to the code of ethics also bring impact and challenge to the development of the moral quality of primary school students.Therefore,the combination of moral education and subject teaching has become the development state of primary school moral education,the English subject is not an exception.The dual nature of instrument and humanist of English subject requires that English teachers should be based on the characteristics of physical and mental development of primary school students and the characteristics of English subjects in the course of classroom teaching,fully and deeply explore the moral education factors hidden in the teaching process,give full play to the moral education value of English subject,truly make moral education hidden in classroom teaching and help students develop good study habits and healthy good quality.This paper is guided by discipline moral education theory,moral cognitive development theory and moral emotional development theory,starting with the new challenge of moral education in the social environment expounds the importance of the combination of English teaching and moral education in primary schools;analyzing the feasibility of the combination of classroom teaching and moral education in primary school from four perspectives: English teaching objectives,English teaching contents,English teaching process and English teaching methods.This paper analyzes the current situation and causes of the combination of English teaching and moral education in primary schools by means of content analysis,questionnaire survey,interview investigation and classroom observation,aiming to put forward the corresponding countermeasures to improve the English subject teaching theory and school moral education theory on the basis of analysis.The research shows that the moral education of primary school English subject has not been paid enough attention by the school and teachers,the mechanism and evaluation system of school moral education have not yet formed a system,the teachers have no awareness of moral education,the implementation of moral education goal is unclear,the excavation of moral education content is not penetrating,and the method of moral education is dull and single.The reason can be attributed to the social ethos of “utilitarianism”,which leads to the lack of innovation of school moral education system,and teachers pay more attention to knowledge than morality,with no time for moral education.And the lack of literacy of subject moral education leads to inadequate excavation of moral education resources.On the basis of this theoretical analysis,this paper puts forward the effective strategies of combining English teaching and moral education in primary schools,including perfecting the moral education system of English subject,refining the evaluation index of English subject moral education,strengthening the construction of humanistic difference in campus environment,enhancing the subject moral education consciousness of English teachers,improving the ability of moral education and refining the art of moral education of teachers,improving students' self-construction awareness and self-education ability.
