As the relations between Korea and China became closer,exchange in the field of literature plays an important part inpromoting mutual understanding and trust between the people of the two countries.Especially,novel translation is one of the most important type of translation works.It reflects the social culture of the original artist source language and at the same time it is very meaningful because it can attract many readers in foreign countries through realistic and vivid stories and wonderful characters in the novel.This report is based on the translation of a Korean writer Seogueok’s short story Goodman,and it is divided into three parts:total text,translation,and translation report.During the translation process,I used various translation methods such as nationalized and foreign translation strategies,to enhance the fluency of the translation.The aim of the translation is to deepen understanding of translation theories and translation methods and to promote exchanges in the field of literature between China and Korea.This report consists of three chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the preparation process of this author,the content of the novel.Chapter 2 analyzes translation methods and translation theories by giving examples.Chapter 3 presents the problems I met in the translation process. |
