The Chinese language programs of the United States in China can be divided into "American-oriented" and" China-us cooperation ",among which the"American-oriented" programs account for the vast majority and basically adopt the Mingde mode.Of these programs,PIB(short for Princeton in Beijing)is one of the largest,most influential,and most representative one.At present,it is rare to make a holistic empirical study on the teaching of Chinese culture in PIB class.This paper selects the second grade of PIB as research object,because they can embody the superiority.On the basis of teaching.practice and classroom observations,the writer distributed questionnaires to teachers and students and had interviews with teachers and students.Based on the investigation and analysis of Chinese culture teaching situation in PIB,and the further investigation of the teachers' and students'satisfaction with Chinese culture teaching in PIB,the deficiencies in the teaching of Chinese culture in PIB are reflected.Specific suggestions are put forward from the aspects of curriculum setting and classroom teaching,textbook compilation,cultural activities,teacher training and management,etc.Hope it can be used for reference for the study of PIB and the teaching of International Chinese culture.
