The teaching mode issue is related to the success or failure of Chinese teaching and plays a decisive role in the whole teaching process.In the teaching of Chinese language,the traditional "sub-skill teaching mode" has some shortcomings in teaching efficiency;so through several years of theoretical exploration,we try to construct a new mode of Chinese language teaching,which is called "'listening & speaking and reading & writing' teaching mode." After two years of large-scale empirical research,we proved that this mode is such effective that is worth further promotion and testing.Structurally,the paper is divided into four parts,plus a number of appendices.Part ? is an introduction and related literature review.Firstly,the paper explains the reason of the subject,the purpose and significance of the research,the research object and method,and outlines the research framework of the full text.Secondly,we introduces the existing main teaching modes at home and abroad,especially of Chinese teaching and teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.A more detailed review provides a reference for the comprehensive construction of the new teaching mode.Part ? is the theoretical construction of the "'listening & speaking and reading & writing' teaching mode.".It mainly introduces the fiveimportant components of the teaching mode,namely the theoretical basis(including Cognitivism,Constructivism,Autonomous Learning,Input and Output Hypothesis,Connectionism theory),and also the teaching objectives,operating procedures,realization conditions(including curriculum design,teacher team building and training,textbook selection and adaptation,teaching strategies and methods,teaching management)as well as teaching evaluations.At the same time,the paper also summarizes the six characteristics of this teaching mode.They are theories-based,the language Chinese itself and Chinese teaching combined,a large-scale and long-term systematic empirical research conducted,student-centered,teaching-coordinated,and powerful-management guaranteed as well.Part ? is the experiment and results of the teaching mode.In this part,the process and results of empirical testing of this teaching mode which used contrastive teaching experiment method,questionnaire survey method and interview method are highlighted.The study shows:(1)Compared with the control group,the overall level of Chinese in the experimental group was significantly higher(based on the new HSK5 scores students got);(2)Compared with the control group,the experimental group students have obvious progress in listening,speaking,reading and writing.(3)The autonomous learning ability of the experimental group students has been significantly improved.(4)The students of experimental group have a very positive attitude towards the "'listening & speaking and reading & writing' teaching mode."(known from the data of the follow-up questionnaire after the experiment and after half a year of survey).(5)The effect of this mode has nothing to do with the language foundation of the students,and is suitable for learners with high and low levels of Chinese.The experimental results achieved the expected goals and proved that the teaching mode was successful.Part ? is the discussion about the teaching mode,and conclusions of this paper.Firstly,combined with the process and results of the second round of experiment,the teaching mode has a wider applicability.Secondly,it summarizes the nine inspirations of this teaching mode on Chinese teaching,and proposes six prospects for the future implementation and promotion.Finally,it conducts a conclusion of the whole research.
