Johannes Brahms was the most classicalist musician in Germany during the Romantic period. His music is compatible with classicalism and romanticism, and has a special contribution to the process of promoting European music culture. In his later years,Brahms reached the peak of his creation. His direction of creation changed from large-scale works to piano pieces, the most representative of which was the genre of interludes he created. These works express the vividness of his skillful creation skills and unique musical style.Geertz said that "any cultural event is not only existed, but they also have meaning and happen because of these meanings." Music is also happening because of "meaning",and piano works are symbolic symbols of music and exist precisely for the purpose of expressing meaning. This article uses the methodology of hermeneutics to start with the three dimensions of composers, music texts, and interpreters, and analyzes the historical background, musical vocabulary of composers Op.117,and the life experiences and personal emotions of composers. This is to understand the deep emotional characteristics and ideological significance of musical works, with a view to interpreting the works in the future with self as the main body and through interaction with composers and music texts. The full text is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction. It expounds the meaning and significance of the author's writing this paper, and defines and explains the relevant concepts of the paper.A review of Brahms' related research was conducted in several channels including books, masterpieces, and journal articles. The second part summarizes the historical background, life experiences, works and creative styles of the Brahms and the creative background of the Intermezzo Op.117 from the perspective of the composer. The third part starts from the music text and analyzes and interprets the five aspects of the music structure, the tonality, the harmony color, the melody line, and the rhythm speed to realize the reproduction of the music text. The fourth part starts from the interpreter's dimension and further interprets the meaning of the musical works and the inspiration of the performance of the works.
