The relationship between language and culture has always been a focus in linguistics.Various topics derived from the relationship between language and culture are of great importance in linguistics.Taboo,as a form of language expression,embodies the cultural background,social system,customs,religious beliefs and values of a nation.This article focused on the question of taboo in intercultural communication,starting with two countries in China and India,which are different in religious belief,political system,cultural background,and value concept,and compare the taboo words of two countries in different categories,and hope to find the prohibition in China and India through this comparison.Different reasons for taboo taboo,and give some views on how to avoid in intercultural communication.The introduction 'part of this paper mainly analyzes the basic theory,background and-purpose of the research,research status,research content and method,and so on in four aspects.The basic theory of the research object(the taboo language)is a brief overview of taboo words.The background and purpose of the study explain the source of the subject and the object of this study-Taboo.The importance of language in communication.As the theoretical basis of this paper,the theoretical basis of taboo language is summarized and summarized from the three perspectives of taboo language,taboo language in India and contraindication of taboo words in China.The content and methods of this study will be based on the content,theoretical basis and innovation of this article.Four aspects of the research method are expounded.The second part of this paper is the main body of this paper,which is a contrastive analysis of Chinese and Indian taboos.In this chapter,the Chinese and Indian taboos are classified and classified from six aspects,such as taboos related to appellations,death related taboos,disease related taboos,physiological taboos,digital taboos and taboos.Through the detailed classification and comparison of the taboo words in this chapter,we can see that the taboo words in China and India are very different in the above several aspects.And with the continuation of the time,the taboos between the two nationalities will continue to exidifferences.The third part of this article is the analysis of the causes of the differences between theChinese and Indian taboos.Through the analysis,we can see that there are many differences between China and India on religious beliefs,customs and habits and values,which leads to the obvious difference between Chinese and Indian taboos,and there is no trend of convergence.The fourth part of this paper gives some suggestions on avoiding the use of taboos in the communication between the Chinese and Indian people,advocating the learning and adaptation of the two peoples to the culture of the taboo language,the euphemistic expression of the taboo language,the enhancement of the intercultural communication ability and the tolerance of intercultural communication.At the same time,it is suggested that cultural orientation in intercultural communication should be based on seeking common ground and preserving differences,and to respect and understand the cultures of various countries,so as to accomplish intercultural communication happily and easily.
