With the development of the world economy, there are a lot of Chinese people who go to Ukraine for studying, in business or travel. Also there are a lot of Ukrainian people who come to China. In cross-cultural communication if people can break their cultural bondage expecting for the same attitude, while appreciating and recognizing differences of other cultures. In this way communication skills not only can be improved, and can reduce misunderstandings and conflicts, promote more successful and orderly cross-cultural communication.Language serves communication, communication serves society. Social life can not be separated from taboo words. In cross-cultural communication the most sensitive topic is taboo; taboo is not only related to speech acts, but also related to people life and thoughts. If we do not pay attention or do not understand to respect each other’s taboo it is very easy to hurt people’s feelings. In communication between people or in cross-cultural communication the use of taboo language has a lot of different means, people try to explore behavior and silent language to seek expression of a culture, language, and though behavior explore a culture value model. Different nationalities, different countries, meaning of communication between different social structure contains a lot of contents, there are significant differences in verbal communication.In three years of academic research by Jilin University we found between Ukrainian taboo words and Chinese taboo words exists a lot of similarities and differences. In four chapters we demonstrate this content. The first chapter raises Ukrainian and Chinese taboo language argumentation purpose and meaning, argumentation methodology to give reader clear understanding of its meaning. The second chapter explains about taboo words defined characteristics, categories and emergence differences. In the third chapter analyze Ukrainian and Chinese taboo words through language context, pronunciation, vocabulary, evolution process, religious and cultural differences. Detail described similarities and differences between two languages. The last thesis chapter is about what are the differences and similarities between Ukrainian and Chinese taboo language caused by. Through aspects of similarities and differences in civil consciousness and semantics between Ukrainian and Chinese taboo words makes a comparison to enable readers to have deeper understanding of Ukrainian and Chinese taboo words system. We hope we can help Chinese and Ukrainian people to have rational and successful cross-culture communication process. This thesis is based on the real life vivid examples and finally we came to definite arguments and conclusion.
