In the process of intercultural communication about Chinese and English, taboo is a sensitive content, set a barrier for the. Therefore, research of Chinese and English language taboos, learning strategies about how to avoid taboo language, can avoid the unpleasant things happen, and promote intercultural communication smoothly.In this paper, by contrast analysis of the similarities and differences of Chinese and English language taboos and its avoidance strategies in intercultural communication, this paper is divided into four parts:First of all, in the first chapter is the introduction, the author expounds the purpose of the study of taboo language, meaning, and domestic and foreign scholars on the study of taboo language. Through the analysis of the meanings and characteristics of the taboo language, to identify the category of taboo language.Again, the third chapter is the focus of this article, analyzes the similarities and differences of Chinese and English taboo language and from the psychological factors, social and cultural factors and courtesy three aspects elaborated the causes of the formation of Chinese and English language taboos.Finally, the fourth chapter is the innovation of this article, the author discusses six strategies about how to avoid taboo language in intercultural communication.By learning foreign culture, to master the differences taboo language, the use of euphemism, the use of body language, a white lie, questions, these six strategies are easy to avoid conflicts and embarrassed in cross-cultural communication, to promote international communication.In short, study the differences of Chinese and English language taboos and its avoidance strategies in cross-cultural communication, has a certain practical value.
