Objective: To examine the clinical efficacy of xiaochaihu decoction in treating sympathetic cervical spondylosis with cervical spondylosis(Shaoyang disease Shaoyang disharmony syndrome)with the theory of syndrome differentiation of six channels and evaluate the clinical efficacy through objective standards,so as to further test the clinical thinking method of using the theory of six channels to guide the treatment of sympathetic cervical spondylosis with cervical spondylosis. Methods: Random number table method was used to divide 60 patients with sympathetic cervical spondylosis with cervical spondylosis who met the inclusion criteria into treatment group and control group respectively,with30 cases in each group.Treatment group was treated with oral xiaochaihu decoction, while control group was treated with oral administration of celecoxib in combination with aminogen.Patients in both groups were instructed to stay in bed while the exercise of strengthening cervical muscle function was practiced. The duration covered two courses with each course of one week. Then VAS scores of sympathetic cervical spondylosis with cervical spondylosis patients before treatment,1 week and 2 weeks after the start of treatment,“20-point scale”scores as well as TCM syndrome scores and clinical efficacy evaluation criteria were recorded to determine the clinical efficacy. Results: The total effective rate of treatment group and control group were93.33% and 83.33% respectively, and the clinical efficacy of treatment group was better than that of control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between two groups in terms of gender, age, course of disease, pain level,“20-point scale”scores and TCM syndrome scores before treatment, and the difference was comparable(P>0.05).One week after treatment,VAS scores,“20-point scale”scores and TCM syndrome scores of both groups were lower than they had been before the treatment, with statistically significant difference(P<0.01),and scores of treatment group were lower than those of control group in the same period, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Two weeks after treatment,VAS scores,“20-point scale”scores and TCM syndrome scores of the two groups were significantly lower than they had been before the treatment, with statistically significant difference(P<0.01),and scores of treatment group were lower than those of control group in the same period, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion: When it comes to the treatment of sympathetic cervical spondylosis with cervical spondylosis(Shaoyang disease Shaoyang disharmony syndrome),xiaochaihu decoction can relieve the patients 'pain and dizziness and effectively improve the patients' clinical symptoms with the theory of syndrome differentiation of six channels.Given its prominent curative effects, xiaochaihu decoction is well worth promoting.
