Professor Zhang Xiaodong's Experience In Treating Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome?PCOS?is one of the most common endocrine disorde rs in gynecology and obstetrics.It is common in adolescent and reproductive women.Its main clinical manifestations are reproductive dysfunction,ovulation dysfunction,abn ormal glucose and lipid metabolism,and the main physiological and pathological chan ges are hyperandrogenemia?HA?,insulin resistance?insulin resistance?.E,IR,hyperins ulinemia?HI?.PCOS patients often begin to develop symptoms in adolescence^[1].Its pathogenesis has not yet been fully elucidated,but it has been basically confirmed tha t its pathogenesis is related to emotional factors,social environmental factors,genetic factors and other factors.Its clinical manifestations were polymorphic,with late menstr uation,less menstrual volume,fat and hairy body,acne nigra,facial acne,infertility,b ilateral ovarian progressive enlargement as the main symptoms^[2].The risk of long-ter m complications such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,diabetes mellitus and depression is much higher than that of the general population,and these risks can be extended to postmenopausal^[3-4].No PCOS has been found in ancient Chinese me dical books.According to its clinical manifestation,it can be classified as"late menstr uation","less menstruation","amenorrhea","metrorrhagia","seeking heirs","disruption of threads"and"termination of labor"in gynecology of traditional Chinese medicine[5].Professor Zhang Xiaodong devoted himself to studying the theory of traditional C hinese medicine,academically inclusive and combined with his abundant clinical exper ience,proposed that the dysfunction of kidney,spleen and liver organs with kidney de ficiency as the core cause of phlegm-dampness,blood stasis and other pathological pr oducts to promote the occurrence and development of the disease,resulting in late me nstruation,less menstrual volume and other clinical manifestations such as irregular m enstruation,obesity,acne and hairy,so the disease belongs to Benxu.Clinical observat ion and study of TCM syndromes of polycystic ovary syndrome?kidney-spleen deficie ncy syndrome?treated with Tiaojing Yishen Decoction.Thirty cases of polycystic ovar y syndrome with Kidney-spleen deficiency were selected and treated with Tiaojing Yis hen Decoction for three consecutive months.The TCM syndromes of patients before a nd after treatment were recorded by questionnaire survey,and the medication period w as observed.According to the clinical results,statistical analysis was used to evaluate the clinical efficacy of"Tiaojing Yishen Decoction"in the treatment of polycystic ova ry syndrome with kidney and spleen deficiency.
