| Objective: In current study, the patients diagnosed as diabetes mellitus with type of Qi deficiency and blood stasis and diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)were included, which divided into two groups: treatment group with basic therapies,Jiangtang Huoluo Pill, and traditional Chinese medicine iontophoresis;control group with basic treatment and Mecobalamin. The aim is to observe the efficacy of Jiangtang Huoluo Pill and traditional Chinese medicine iontophoresis for treatment of DPNMethods: 60 patients with DPN were selected and divided into two groups randomly. The control group received Mecobalamin(0.5 mg/time,3 times/day)and basic treatment including controlled diet, regular exercise, and balancing blood sugar, blood pressure,as well as controlling blood lipid;while treatment group was treated by basic treatment, and oral taking of Jiangtang Huoluo Pill 9g(3 times/day),and traditional Chinese medicine iontophoresis(1 time/day).4 weeks were served as a course. After a course of treatment, the efficiency was evaluated.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndromes and TCSS(Toronto clinical scoring system)were scored, and nerve conduction velocity(nerve conduction velocity,NCV)was recorded.Other parameters including fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2h PG)were also recorded. The efficacy of Jiangtang Huoluo Pill combined with traditional Chinese medicine iontophoresis was evaluated in the treatment of DPN in patients with type of Qi deficiency and blood stasis diabetes mellitus.Result:1.The total efficacy for TCM syndromes was compared between two groups. The results showed that the total effective was 80.0% in treatment group, and 60.0% in control group, respectively(P < 0.05).The results indicated that treatment group had better curative effect in improving TCM syndromes than the control group.2.As for TCSS score between two groups, treatment group showed significant decreasing than that of control group(P < 0.05).3.Compared to control group,a significant decreasing of blood glucose was observed in treatment group(P < 0.05).4.When comparing nerve conduction velocity,an improvement of nerve conduction velocity in treatment group was more obvious than that of control group(P < 0.05).5.During whole process of the study, there were no obvious adverse reactions observed in both groupsConclusion: Jiangtang Huoluo Pills combined with traditional Chinese medicine iontophoresis can significantly improve TCM symptoms, decrease TCSS score, and improve nerve conduction velocity, while exhibiting no obvious toxic and side effects in patients with diabetes mellitus... |
