ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical efficacy on infantile functional constipation(FC)of treated by tuina of unblocking-fu-organ and directing-qi-downward method.MethodThis study included 70 FC patients from infantile massage clinic in Sichuan hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.They were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group and control group.The treatment group was treated by uina of unblocking-fu-organ and directing-qi-downward method,while the control group was treated by traditional massage pattern.After 1 course,we evaluated the clinical efficacy of patients in the both groups after treatment.Result1.60 patients have accomplished in the study.2.There was no difference in baseline data of the two groups(P>0.05).3.Comparison of clinical efficacy:3.1 Comparison of main symptoms:(1)Comparison between groups:the treatment group on the main symptoms score,dinterval of defecation,difficulty in defecation,dry stool degree improvement(P<0.05),the difference was statistically significant.The control group on the main symptoms score,dinterval of defecation,difficulty in defecation,dry stool degree improvement(P<0.05),the difference was statistically significant.The difference in dry stool in the control group is not statistically significant(P>0.05).(2)Comparison within treatment group:The difference in main symptoms score,dinterval of defecation,difficulty in defecation,dry stool is statistically significant(P> 0.05).3.2 Comparison of secondary symptoms:(1)Comparison between groups:the treatment group on the secondary symptoms score,abdominal distention,anorexia,dry mouth,foul breath,heat in palms and soles and yellowish urine degree improvement(P<0.05),the difference was statistically significant.he control group onthe facial complexion degree improvement(P>0.05),the difference was statistically significant.The control group on the secondary symptoms score,abdominal distention,anorexia,foul breath,heat in palms and soles and yellowish urine degree improvement(P<0.05),the difference was statistically significant.The control group on the dry mouth and facial complexion degree improvement(P>0.05),the difference was not statistically significant.(2)Comparison within treatment group:The difference in secondary symptoms score,abdominal distention,anorexia,dry mouth,foul breath,heat in palms and soles and yellowish urine degree improvement(P>0.05),the difference was not statistically significant.Conclusion1.The method of unblocking-fu-organ and directing-qi-downward is effective for infantile functional constipation.2.The method of unblocking-fu-organ and directing-qi-downward is more effective than the traditional massage pattern for infantile functional constipation.
